JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Senior Risk Control Officer to start working ASAP. RCL Foods requires the services of reputable Senior Risk Control Officer. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;

  • Matric or Grade 12
  • Completed: N. Diploma in Safety Management/Environmental Science/ NEBOSH National or International Diploma
  • SAMTRAC will be an added advantage.
  • HSE Implementation and Internal Audit (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
  • Advanced SHER related training

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:  

The applicant must have the following skills and competences

  • Must have minimum 3 years’ experience in a FMCG environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:

  • To actively Interact with operational personnel, departmental managers on SHER Matters
  • Active management of the SHER Management Systems
  • To foster positive relationships with regulatory authorities (Department of Labour, SAPS, PSIRA, Metro Police, Fire Department)
  • To work proactively with Management to maintain and enhance a SHER program of continual improvement
  • To provide clear leadership for the development of a safe environment
  • To ensure that the safety and environmental programs are carried out efficiently throughout all the Site
  • To ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards
  • To provide regular reports to management of the systems implemented
  • Keep abreast of legislated changes and best practice methods and implement them at the Site
  • Use of trend analysis to identify system deficiencies and incident trends, outline relevant improvements
  • Complete preventative inspections on a regular basis and ensure records are maintained accordingly. (Walkabout, PJO, Staff address)
  • Actively causing for Site preparations for periodical SHER audits (Planned & Unplanned)
  • Investigate accidents and ensure all documentation is updated on the SHEQX Systems.
  • To drive a periodical SHER communication strategy on sites including written information, toolbox talks and management briefs on Noticeboards
  • To advise line management in factories and offices on site of SHER matters and manage these process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day-to-day processes and operations
  • To facilitate conducting and implementation of risk assessments (e.g. HSE baselines, Issue based, Fire and Security)
  • To conduct occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to rubber substances and make associated recommendations
  • To maintain compliance, laws, regulations, guidelines and policies.
  • To analyze and report on NCRs to management.
  • To coordinate closely with the Project’s team to ensure all Site Projects do happen safely in line with the Contractor’s Management program
