JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Security Officer Grade B to start working ASAP. Thorburn Security Solutions requires the services of reputable Security Officer Grade B. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have valid PSIRA Certificate Grade B
- Must have matric
- Must have previous security experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have knowledge of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Must have strong observation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Must have ability to handle conflict situations calmly and professionally.
- Must be physically fit and prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must have Driver’s license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To supervise and coordinate security staff; maintain order and discipline.
- To conduct security briefings, debriefings and assign duties/shifts.
- To support team leadership and enforce compliance to site standards.
- To control access points, enabling secure entry and exit.
- To verify identities, manage visitor logs, regulate vehicle and pedestrian flow.
- To conduct regular site patrols, building inspections, and perimeter checks.
- To ensure security of premises after operating hours
- To respond to alarms, emergencies, and urgent incidents.
- To use alarms or panic mechanisms to mobilise assistance when required.
