JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Kitchen Supervisor to start working ASAP. Empact Group requires the services of reputable Kitchen Supervisor. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have matric
- Must have relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts
- Must have minimum 2 Years’ experience of progressive/kitchen management
- Must have experience with stock control, ordering and receiving
- Must have hospital Catering experience
- Must have knowledge of Special diets
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have knowledge of the catering environment ranging from fine dining to restaurant dining
- Must have knowledge of South African and industry specific laws
- Must have management Skills
- Must have good communication Skills
- Must be Computer literate
- Must have sound command of English both written and oral
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To oversee smooth operation of kitchen production
- To maintain consistency for all menu items
- To assist with monitoring inventory and communicating needs to the catering manager
- To ensure portion control, preparation and storage methods thereby avoid waste and keep costs down
- To ensure delivering of excellent service
- To assist in all food production areas with basic food preparation in accordance with menu cycle requirements
- To assist in completion of relevant paperwork reproduction and wastage sheets, cleaning records, etc
- To help with regular stock takes as and when required
- To maintain temperature records as required and to report any variance
- To analyse and manage effectively all in unit costs
- To ensue all food wastage is recorded and minimized
- To assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required
- To support, train, coach and develop team.
