JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Diesel Mechanic to start working ASAP. TWK Agri requires the services of reputable Diesel Mechanic. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Matric / Grade 12
- Must have Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal)
- Must have Hydraulic and/or auto-electrical training
- Must have 8–10 years’ experience with agricultural or heavy diesel equipment
- Must have experience with Bell, Terex, JCB or similar machinery
- Must have Diesel engine, hydraulic and auto-electrical diagnostics.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have welding and fabrication skills
- Must be competent in preventative maintenance
- Must have Computer literacy in MS 365
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must have ability to handle seasonal workloads and urgent repairs
- Must have heavy and light vehicle driver’s license’s
- Must be Fluent in English.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To maintain a comprehensive maintenance plan for all plant vehicles, machines and equipment
- To schedule services, inspections and component replacements in line with OEM specifications
- To ensure correct spares are ordered and delivered on time
- To conduct daily spot checks on machines
- To oversee weekly greasing and washing of machines
- To identify mechanical faults and pinpoint sources of trouble
- To follow proper safety protocols and maintain an organised, clean work area
- To perform mechanical and auto-electrical repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- To carry out welding and fabrication tasks to keep equipment operational
- To work with petrol-powered grass-cutting machines and equipment where required
- To maintain accurate service records and equipment history
- To record daily HRS meter readings on all mobile equipment
- To perform stand-by duties across all sections of the woodchip plant and ship-loading operations.
