JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Fitter to start working ASAP. VKB Group requires the services of reputable Fitter. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have valid Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner Trade Certificate.
- Must have minimum 5-10 years proven fitting experience in relevant industrial environments.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have manual handling, working at heights, and confined space awareness
- Must have understanding of production processes
- Must have knowledge of PPE and safety procedures
- Must have ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have high attention to detail
- Must have strong team player
- Must have ability to work under pressure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To reduce plant breakdowns and downtime to minimise costs
- To install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems
- To conduct fault-finding and problem-solving on machinery
- To repair or replace defective parts and assemblies
- To inspect machinery daily and test operation
- To complete job cards accurately and obtain sign-off
- To report failures and breakdowns to management
- To improve plant equipment reliability continuously
- To ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards
- To complete compulsory training interventions
- To mentor employees on best maintenance practices
- To perform additional duties as required by management.
