JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified General Worker to start working ASAP. VKB Group requires the services of reputable General Worker. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
- Must be able to work in warm abattoir areas with pungent smell (feathers, blood).
- Must be in good physical condition as the position involves physical work and standing for extended periods.
- A willingness to work overtime, incl. shifts, on weekends and holidays when required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have understanding of production procedures.
- Must have knowledge of health and safety procedures (PPE).
- Team player.
- Able to work under pressure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- Cleaning the DAF unit, feather press, and sump pit and feather area.
- To ensure that the equipment is washed, and damaged or broken machines and equipment are reported to the shift controllers.
- To assist in inspecting broken shackles & yokes of the airline chiller during start-ups.
- To ensure that the machines are working the entire production time and reporting all failures in time as and when they occur.
- Assisting in replacing the plucker fingers during weekend maintenance work.
- To ensure that all valves, scrapers, screen, and pumps are in a good working condition.
- To ensure that the sump pit room is clean and ready for start-up.
- To ensure that the feather area is clean and ready.
- To ensure that the water sieve unit is clean and ready for start-up.
