JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Security Officer to start working ASAP. TSU requires the services of reputable Security Officer. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Grade C – Psira registered and up to date
- Grade 12 is preferred but not essential
- Must have 2 years of previous retail security guarding experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must be able to effectively communicate and write in English
- Must reside in the areas of Khayelitsha, Gugulethu and Philippi
- Must be in a physical healthy condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To conduct regular patrols of the security premises to monitor for suspicious activities, theft, or vandalism.
- To utilize security equipment such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems to maintain a secure environment.
- To respond promptly to security incidents and alarms, taking appropriate action as per company protocols.
- To implement and enforce loss prevention measures to minimize shrinkage and theft within the store.
- To perform bag checks and monitor customer exits to deter theft and ensure adherence to store policies.
- To provide assistance and guidance to customers and employees regarding security-related concerns or inquiries.
- To maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with customers and staff.
- To act swiftly and decisively during emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches.
- To coordinate with emergency services and management to ensure appropriate responses and resolution.
- To accurately document all security incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports.
- To maintain daily logs and records of security activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- To collaborate effectively with store management, fellow security personnel, and law enforcement agencies as needed.
- To communicate security concerns, updates, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
- To enforce company policies and procedures related to security, safety, and operational protocols.
- To stay informed about changes in security regulations and standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
